OMOIYARI MANAGEMENT™ 100

OMOIYARI MANAGEMENT™ 100

A project to record 100 Japanese companies that keep going through kindness — one story at a time.

About the project

OMOIYARI MANAGEMENT™ 100 selects companies through nominations and three-voice interviews (the president, an employee and a customer), and publishes their stories. It is run by a private organization, is free of charge for companies, and is not a government award.

What we look for

  • Kindness toward the team: people can speak up, are trusted, and are thanked
  • Kindness toward customers: practical ways of reducing customers’ worries and burdens
  • Kindness toward the community: co-creating with the local area for the next generation
  • Honesty: willing to talk about what did not work
  • Evidence: confirmed by employees’ and customers’ voices, not only the president’s

Selection process

  1. Nominations and self-nominations
  2. Document review by the secretariat
  3. Online interviews with three people
  4. Review by a committee including external members
  5. Article review by the company before publication
  6. Publication and certificate

Selection is never tied to purchasing any service. Nominations are currently accepted from companies operating in Japan.
