THE FRAMEWORK

What is OMOIYARI Management™

It starts with one shift: changing the subject of every sentence from “us” to “them.”

Definition

OMOIYARI Management is a way of running a company that builds consideration for three groups — your team, your customers and your community — into daily operations, and turns it into the strength that keeps the company going.

Three layers

LayerWho it is forIn practiceWhat comes back
TeamEmployees, partners, familiesSpace to speak up, real responsibility, gratitude put into wordsRetention, hiring, pride
CustomersCurrent and future customersExplaining worries before they are raised; staying in touch after the saleLoyal fans, referrals
CommunityLocal people, the next generationLocal events, family-friendly spaces, co-creation with the areaA reason to be chosen locally

Kindness toward customers only lasts when there is kindness inside the company. That is why we treat “omoiyari within the team” as the precondition for everything else.

Common questions

Is it “soft” management?

No. Because we care, we say difficult things and face the numbers honestly — including what did not work.

Do we measure people’s hearts with KPIs?

No. We never set targets for feelings. We listen to people’s voices to notice change, and look at them together.
